| Service Wire Operations |
| HCI currently provides buried drop services to several of the major operating companies throughout the South and Midwest. Our crews are experienced in placing both copper and coaxial cable in a variety of environments. HCI places these facilities by hand and/or mechanically, depending on conditions and the potential for damages. By utilizing a combination of single crew sub-contractors and larger contracting firms, HCI is able to respond rapidly to customer needs for buried service wire placement. |
| Dispatch Services |
In order to comply with these requirements, HCI has invested in and developed a state-of-the-art computer system with proprietary software written by our Information Systems Department that allows us to manage hundreds of crews in more than ten (10) states and thousands of work orders per month. We keep track of this information in a database and through a series of customized reports, we update our supervisors mangers and customers. HCI has the ability to provide these resources for a variety of data entry and dispatch operations to meet almost any telecommunications requirements. |
The Dispatch Center has been a strategic addition to our products and services and a direct result of our success in our Service Wire Operations. One component of our contracts with the Regional Operating Companies was the requirement to establish a Work Allocation and Billing Center. This would allow our customers to transmit work orders to us electronically, allow us to send confirmation of the completed orders back to them and generate thousands of invoices each month.| Outside Plant Construction |
HCI has also assisted Verizon in upgrading Rural Radio customers in West Texas to provide high-speed internet access in 2001 and 2002. These projects were in excess of 10 million feet of cable placed. |
HCI provides all types of Outside Plant Construction services to the telecommunications industry. We have performed work for Verizon, SBC, SBC International, TelMex, Telcom SA, US West, Valor, Sprint and AT&T among others. HCI has worked in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. We have the expertise, personnel and equipment to place copper, fiber optic and coaxial cable in a variety of environments including aerial, buried and underground. HCI also provides specialty services for Outside Plant including cable pulling, conduit, manhole inspection and splicing.| Electrical Energy and Gas Installation |
 HCI has recently expanded its business in the area of installing gas and electric distribution facilities for new developments. This includes, but is not limited to the placement of conduit, polyethylene pipe, street light assemblies, transformers and pads. It also requires pulling wire and/or cable and performing poly, electro and mechanical fusion procedures. HCI also has the ability to pressurize and test the facilities installed. These services have become instrumental in providing joint trench solutions for the customer. |
| Technical Network Services |
HCI also provides custom/electronics design and installation that integrates state-of-the-art audio, video and communications into both new and existing MDU's and businesses. Working closely with architects, interior designers, builders and the owners, we ensure that the outcome of the project will be of great satisfaction to the client. Integrating multiple electronic systems such as SMATV, telephone, audio/video systems and cable TV head-end systems provide the client with the utmost in quality and convenience, giving them full, simplified control. With the increasing emphasis on data communications, HCI provides structured cabling services for new construction, tenant finish and rehabilitation to its clients. HCI can provide turnkey solutions for voice and data networks including equipment, pre-wire, testing and certification for any size project. HCI also partnered with the consulting firm of Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams and designed the fiber distribution system for the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. HCI currently assists the Center Operating Company (COC) in maintaining and servicing the system. Wet Utility Construction HCI also provides "Wet Utility" services to its customers. This includes installation of water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage facilities. HCI is capable of performing all operations in connection with the construction of a Distribution or Collector System, complete with piping and all appurtenances. |
A prime example of our customers challenging us to expand is our Technical Network Services department. At the request of one of our Local Exchange Carrier customers, HCI began working in apartment complexes doing underground and pre-wire for telephone. In a short time, this work has expanded to encompass complete rehabilitation of existing properties, installation of satellite head-end equipment and CATV. We have also been contracted to complete work after other companies have abandoned projects. HCI contracts and bids apartment complex work throughout the United States.| International Services |
| During the past eight (8) years, HCI has worked on significant international projects providing very specialized engineering and technical personnel in a variety of disciplines. Working for Telefonos de Mexico, HCI provided over one hundred (100) engineers and technicians in disciplines including SS7, NOC, Board to Board Testing, Main Distribution Frame Removal and Installation, and Central Office Engineering and Installation. HCI provided a number of engineers to Telkom, South Africa Ltd. These engineers provided planning for a significant expansion and upgrade project that will provide more than twenty (20) million access lines throughout the country. Disciplines included Central Office Engineers, Copper and Fiber Optic Network Engineers, Microwave Transmission Engineers and PCS Engineers for Wireless Local Loop. |
| Temporary Services |
Additionally, we provide site surveys, cost estimates and project consultation at no cost. We can also provide complete system design, CADD drawings and "as built" documentation at an additional charge. All of the work performed by HCI includes a one (1) year warranty on material and labor. |
HCI has a large database of qualified engineers and technicians throughout the world. This database allows HCI to provide temporary placement of these personnel on an as needed basis. No matter what the skill set or number required, HCI can provide a choice of candidates for consulting or staff positions.
